We offer conversion parts or complete turn key conversions for Dodge Daytona, Lebaron , Sundance and Shadow cars. These parts have been tested and in use since 1999 and we continue to make additions to our list of options for motor, transmission and suspension components that can be used.
The process begins with the front suspension. Almost all of the front suspension will remain stock with the exception of the Exline Custom Auto suspension conversion crossmember. It bolts to the factory frame and uses a Mustang 2 steering rack , or for the hard core mopar guys an optional Dodge Dakota rack, and an adapter where the tie-rod bolts on. All other front suspension components remain stock.
The engine is mounted with an Exline Custom Auto engine crossmember and used spool type mounts. Normally the crossmember will be welded between the frame rails but can be made to bolt in of you desire.
The transmission is also mounted with an Exline Custom Auto transmission crossmember. Two ears will be welded to the frame reail and the mount bolts in.
The factory frame will be replaced from the firewall to the rear bumper by our 2" x 3" tube frame section. Our frame is welded on a jig and is available with all suspension mounting ears attached and welded. We can also attach mounts for a Dodge challenger gas tank.
The floor pan above the rear axle and the trunk floor must be removed and raised to clear the axle. The transmission and driveshaft will require a tunnel to be fabricated . The transmission tunnel can normally be made so that the original heater box can still be used but the center console will need trimmed and the brackets modified to fit.
